BRISBANE’S QUEEN’S WHARF DEVELOPMENT
The Star Entertainment Group has unveiled designs for the tallest building in its $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf development, which features more than 800 apartments and stands above 250 metres.
Business News Australia reports that the 71-storey tower will be the fifth skyrise in the resort development and surround nine heritage buildings in the complex, spanning more than seven hectares.
Global developer Multiplex was awarded the construction contract for the project in April 2019 by Destination Brisbane Consortium, a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group and its Hong Kong-based partners Chow Tai Enterprises and Far East Consortium.
YPM Group sales director Chris Hinds said the apartments would go on sale in two months’ time.

“Market interest is strong, and we have started connecting with potential buyers who have been registered after missing out on the first time, Queen’s Wharf Residences.
“Queen’s Wharf Residences is the fastest selling residential project in Queensland after attracting an unprecedented level of local buyer interest and selling 75 per cent of the 667 apartments within two months.”
New casino, four hotels, 50 bars and restaurants and 2000 apartments to come
The project has been seven years in the making and began when Echo Entertainment Group, since renamed Star Entertainment, beat out proposals by Crown Resorts and Greenland Holdings Group.
The retail component of the project will be anchored by luxury brand retailer DFS, which will create a three-level T Galleria Emporium as part of the 40,000 square metre shopping precinct in the heart of Brisbane.
Once completed, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will give Queenslanders a new casino, four hotels, more than 50 new bars and restaurants and up to 2000 residential apartments.
Destination Brisbane Consortium project director Simon Crooks said Queen’s Wharf Brisbane is well on its way to changing the cityscape and when it commences opening from first half 2023, it will re-energise the Brisbane CBD like never before.
“With the main integrated resort reaching level 20 in parts, construction has spilled into the public space areas and heritage buildings, many of which will become the locals’ favourite new dining spots,” Crooks said.
“The nine heritage buildings, dated back to the 1800s, are being carefully restored and transformed into new shopping outlets, restaurants and bars as well as spaces for events, entertainment and performance.
“Further to that, sections of the SkyDeck will be installed mid-year as we start to form Brisbane’s newest and hottest venue in town come 2023.”
Located at the corner of Margaret and William Street, two more buildings will be constructed after the tower is completed.
