CASHCONNECT ATM PLUS NOW ACCEPTING CASH DONATIONS FOR THE SALVOS FLOOD APPEAL

Cash donations to the Salvation Army Flood Appeal can be made via the CashConnect ATM Plus network at participating hospitality venues.

Launched in 2021, this donation functionality is now proving useful for groups like the Salvation Army who is currently raising funds for victims of the recent floods in NSW and QLD.

Australia’s leading independent ATM deployer, Banktech that owns and operates the 2,500 CashConnect ATM network, pioneered the technology allowing people to make cash donations to charities.

The Bligh Park Hotel, in north-western Sydney, is one venue keen to support the flood appeal with many of the locals impacted by the floods.

“Many of our regulars have been left devastated by the recent floods and we’re keen to help where we can by encouraging donations to the Salvos Flood Appeal” said Dan O’Hara, owner of the Bligh Park Hotel.  “We’ve always had an ATM, but now with the new donation functionality enabled, we can offer everyone a very easy way to make a cash donation.”

The donation transaction is quick and easy and no card is required. Simply touch the screen and select Donations. Choose your preferred charity then insert your cash (notes only). You can enter your phone number for an electronic receipt or wait for a paper receipt/tax invoice. All done.

Blacktown Workers Club is another venue keen to throw their support behind the flood appeal.  One of the first venues to turn on the donation functionality on their existing CashConnect ATM Plus, they will be heavily promoting the Appeal amongst the membership.

“Our members have a proud history of supporting those in need and we’re confident they will be lining up to donate at the ATM,” said Morgan Stewart, CEO of Blacktown Workers.  “The key to collecting donations is to make it easy, especially for people who prefer to use cash. We’re pleased to be able to offer this easy donation option to our members and patrons. ”

David Collinson (Major), NSW Public Relations Secretary for the Salvation Army, was on hand at Blacktown Workers to promote donations to the flood appeal via the CashConnect ATM Plus.  “A lot of people still prefer to donate with cash instead of online, so providing a handy cash collection point like the ATM Plus at a pub or club is a brilliant idea,” said David.  “We’re grateful to venues such as the Bligh Park Hotel and Blacktown Workers Club who are happy to provide the ATM donation facility.”
