LIVE MUSIC BAN LIFTED FOR PUBS AND CLUBS

Outdated live entertainment conditions have been removed to allow some venues to play live music for the first time in years, while other venues can now offer a broader range of music.

Across regional NSW the Cambridge Hotel in Parkes, the Berry Bowling Club, the Commercial Hotel in Lake Cargelligo and the Ocean View Hotel in Urunga will benefit from the changes. In Sydney, this will include the Cheese & Wine Co in Neutral Bay, the Civic Hotel in the CBD and the Forresters Hotel in Surry Hills.

Local police, councils and nearby residents were given the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed changes. In many cases, restrictive or unnecessary conditions were included in development consents imposed by local councils.

Venues can apply to Liquor & Gaming NSW at any time to have live entertainment conditions removed.

An exposure bill will be released later this month for consultation. The public will be able to provide their feedback on the removal of further restrictions on live music.
