PHARMACY GUILD AND CLUBSACT ANNOUNCE A HISTORIC AGREEMENT

The ACT Branch of the Pharmacy Guild and ClubsACT have just signed a historic agreement creating the opportunity for Licensed clubs in the ACT to work with their local community-based pharmacies to assist in the roll-out of Flu and Covid-19 vaccines to their staff, members and the general public.

This agreement will allow both organisations and their members to join forces and work to best utilise our strengths to better serve our local communities.  This new partnership also complements a recent initiative of ClubsAustralia to work with the Federal Government to identify how and where the Club industry may assist in the Vaccination campaign on a national basis.

ClubsACT President Kim Marshall said “We hope the first achievement of this agreement will see Community Clubs and local pharmacies jointly play a role in the expansion of vaccination Hubs across the Canberra community especially in rolling out vaccines for the Flu.  Both organisations have agreed to develop a range of joint activities that will benefit the local community and capitalise on the strengths of both organisations.”

The ACT Pharmacy Guild President, Simon Blacker, also welcomed the forging of the unique partnership.  “The most important word in Community Pharmacy is community and as community pharmacies strive for better health and wellbeing outcomes in the community, we are thrilled to work with ClubsACT to offer wider access for their members and the public to flu vaccinations and health screenings. “

Both organisations look forward to working with the ACT Government in the expansion vaccine rollouts across the ACT.
