PRODUCT TEST DRIVE: IGT’S “MULTISTAR – HOT DIAMONDS”

Multistar Hot Diamonds is the follow on game from IGTs very popular Multistar-Dazzling Diamonds. In December last year MS Dazzling Diamonds had already been in the market for a few months and was achieving 53% above the floor average turnover in clubs that had it installed, (Maxgaming Denom TO Ratio – 1.53). In December 2018, 12 months later, there are over 4 times more of these games in the market and performance levels are still strong. Multistar Hot Diamonds, carries through the same popular feature and bonus structure as the original game with a different group of strong low, mid and high denomination games.  However, the real boost to performance is that this new game is offered in the new Crystal 27” machine which presents much better with clearer graphics and wider screen.

IGT: “Multistar-Hot Diamonds”

Denomination: As a multigame pack MS Hot Diamonds contains a good mix of specific low mid and high denomination games. These types of multipacks are strong choices for the mid-range player who can move between 10c, $1 and low denom games depending on their luck. Once they achieve a win they move to the 10c and high denom games to try for a larger prize. They move back to the lower denom games in order to extend their time-on-device.  This pack contains two popular low denom games, ‘Chilli Bandit’ and ‘Fire Dragon’ well-known to many players.  A 10c ‘Serpent Stone’, two strong $1 games ‘Shogun’ and ‘Forbidden City’ and 50c ‘Arctic Bear’ complete the pack with games designed specifically for the bigger players.

Game Features: ‘MS Hot Diamonds’ uses same popular feature as MS Dazzling Diamonds with overlaid symbols to trigger the diamond bonus. During game play 6 or more of the overlying red ‘hot diamonds’ transforms to reveal either bonus credit prizes or blue or pink progressive symbols (Maxi and Mega jackpots). These are held for 3 respins, but additional red diamonds appearing during a respin resets the count back to zero for another 3 respins, and will continue until no further red diamonds are won during a respin series.

SAP Profile: 3 jackpot options are available of $2,500, $5,000 and $6,000

Volatility:  The volatility in any multigame pack depends on the denomination chosen by the players. Often the higher denomination games will offer better returns to the player and will affect the rtp% but this is a big plus on a high turnover game as feature wins are generally reinvested.

Floor Position:  With all multigame packs their flexibility is the main driver of their purchase for gaming managers. These games, with a good group of tried and tested high/mid denom games, fit well into any high denom area on a segmented floor, and into outdoor gaming areas where many of the regular gamers prefer to play.  However, with some popular low denomination games they also fit well into high traffic and mid floor areas where the smaller players enjoy the game choice provided by multigame packs without having to move from one machine to another.

Performance:

Multistar Hot Diamonds has just been released to the market and has started just as strongly as the original Multistar Dazzling Diamonds. After 6 months in the market, Multistar Dazzling Diamonds was still operating at 1.15 (Maxgaming Denom TO Ratio). The new game, Multistar Hot Diamond, with the same jackpot and game feature and a fresh pack of games, with a performance boost from the new Crystal 27” machine, should follow Dazzling Diamonds earlier long-term success
