PUB NEWS: FEROS GROUP READY TO SET A NEW STANDARD IN THE SHIRE + ANOTHER SYDNEY CBD HOTEL SOLD
Following on from their successful greenfield hotel project earlier in the year, The Prince at Kirrawee, the Feros Group is now set to open their latest Sutherland Shire venue towards the end of the year.
The Feros Group already has two established businesses on the Banksia Road site, originally the old Caringbah Bizzos Club. They include the US style Huxley’s sports bar and Ugly Pizza on the ground floor.
Described as a “premium pub” the new project will include several types of offerings across three levels.
The new venue, to be called Highfield Caringbah, will have a bar and bistro on the second floor with “one of the best TAB facilities in Sydney”, including more than 80 televisions to watch all the latest sporting events.
The top floor will house a rooftop terrace called The Botanical and will include a fireplace, cocktail bar and a range of dining areas as well as a living garden wall.
“It’s going to be something special, and will bring a little bit of the city to the Shire,” said chief executive Chris Feros.
“You will be able to watch American football in Huxley’s, move up to the Australian sports bar to watch the NRL and then join the family for dinner on the top level,” he said.
”With the mix of dining, drinking, bar spaces, a huge outdoor area, fantastic views to the city, I think it’s going to make a statement and set a new standard.”
ANOTHER SYDNEY CBD HOTEL SOLD
The Republic Hotel located on the corner of Pitt and Bridge Streets in Sydney’s CBD, opposite the Sydney Stock Exchange, has been sold to a highly regarded international property fund.
The impressive hotel spans three city streets and recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation, including the introduction of a popular rooftop bar. The deal sees the well-known hotelier Patrick Ryan enter into an agreement to lease back the business operation of the asset after 17 years of ownership of the 4-storey hotel.
Leading agent Andrew Jolliffe of Ray White Hotels Australia handled the deal but would not be drawn on price.
