SPOTLIGHT ON SHARYN HANLON

Sharyn Hanlon, Administration Manager, Batemans Bay Soldiers Club

  1. What is your biggest or has been your biggest challenge with the club and your role?

My biggest challenge was utilising my new accounting skills to help implement a new accounting program and bring our reporting back in house and being able to produce quality monthly reports from our own systems and not relying on the outside accountants to produce them.

  1. What have been some of your achievements or highlights since being at the club?

Completing my diploma of accounting through OTEN and Diploma of Management whilst working full time and looking after two primary school children

  1. Is there a piece of advice or something compelling you have learnt that you can pass on to our readers and up and coming managers?

Make sure you have a healthy work / life balance

  1. Outside of the club and your role there. Do you have any hobbies or passion – tell us a bit about you?

I am a basketball and soccer mum and have been a volunteer on the local     Public School P and C and their treasurer for many years – paying it forward after the club paid for my Diploma of Accountancy. I’ve only recently passed the batten onto the next superstar.
