THIS WEEK’S AUSTRALASIAN GAMING SEMINARS ARE ONLINE

Yesterday marked what would have been the opening of this year’s Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE). Unable to run an in-person due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Gaming Technologies Association (GTA) the organiser of the AGE, has taken the annual AGE seminar program online.

“This year for the first time in three decades the AGE is not filling the ICC Sydney”, said Chris Muir CEO of GTA in his opening address to seminar attendees yesterday. “This year, like the rest of the industry we are making do, doing what we can within the limitations that we have”.

Yesterday’s agenda covered the analysts’ outlook on gaming and the economy, what the current crisis means for venue valuations and an IMGL Masterclass on Damage Assessment. Yesterday’s sessions are now available on-demand from the seminar platform.

The seminar sessions continue today at 3 pm with a tour of SkyCity Auckland, and a look at how SkyCity are addressing their challenges. Also on today’s agenda is a presentation on the results of the recent nationwide survey of venues, a discussion about online gambling, and a review on how gaming floors are changing. Today’s schedule finishes with a focus on marketing during COVID-19 and beyond.

Tomorrow, Michelle Pascoe founder of OOPS, will encourage you to be the person who makes the difference, and a panel of food and dining experts will discuss the new normal in food delivery and opportunities to keep your kitchen profitable. The event will finish off with a presentation from Leigh Barrett from a regulatory and compliance perspective.
