GORDON TALLIS – ONGOING SUPPORT OF SMART PUPS CHARITY

Rugby League legend Gorden Tallis, known as The Raging Bull, has made a profound impact on the lives of several special needs children with autism and other disabilities. At the annual Paddo Tavern Smart Pups Fundraiser Luncheon in 2018, Smart Pup Gordie was named in his honor, recognizing his ongoing commitment to the not-for-profit charity.

Gorden has never sought recognition for his efforts.

One of the Gorden Tallis families is Smart Pup Tallis, who was placed with Will and his mother, Angela in 2018.

Smart Pup Tallis, a black labradoodle, has been a constant support for Will, who has autism, multiple complex disabilities, and chronic health issues.

Will’s Mum Angela has said that Smart Pup Tallis works tirelessly to help Will manage everyday challenges and quickly responds to Will’s meltdowns or anxiety attacks, providing immediate comfort.

According to Angela, “Five years ago, William would not speak to anyone outside the family due to selective mutism; now he interacts with everyone”

Gorden Tallis has facilitated the funding of four fully trained Smart Pups over the years and seen the benefits to families first-hand:

As a long-time passionate advocate and ambassador for Smart Pups, I am incredibly proud that they have seen fit to name several Smart Pups in my honor.

The impact that these pups have on the lives of children living with autism is astonishing and life-changing, not only for them but for their families as well.

The dedication of Smart Pups to improving the quality of life for those affected by autism, is truly inspiring.

I urge everyone to support the incredible work that Smart Pups undertakes, as their efforts dramatically enhance the lives of so many dealing with this challenging condition.
