GIN LANE BRINGS BOOKTOK TO LIFE IN IMMERSIVE MYTHICAL & MAGICAL NEW POP-UP EVENT

Gin Lane on Kensington Street has been transformed into an immersive fantasy world following the launch of its limited-edition pop-up, which features a range of experiences inspired by some of BookTok’s most viral reads.

Drawing on the worlds of Gen Z cult favourite ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ and Millennial classics ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’, the Tales & Tonics pop-up goes beyond the bar’s namesake, combining a range of cocktails featuring otherworldly ingredients with a first-of-its-kind Seer’s Table.

Upon entry, guests will be invited to visit Gin Lane’s very own Seer, where they will have their tarots read and be guided on a spiritual journey to reveal which mythical world (and cocktails) their energy is most suited to.

The world-class bar will be running the pop-up from 17 October to late-December, where guests can sip their way through a selection of spellbinding concoctions that blur the line between fantasy and reality.

A standout cocktail is the ‘The Cauldron’, a swirling potion of rose petal-infused Casamigos tequila, triple sec, spice and pressed lime, activated charcoal and a bubbling citrus shot, inspired by the powerful artefact that shapes the fate of Prythian in ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’.

Another enchanting creation is ‘Spring Court in Bloom’ inspired by the lush, deceptive beauty of the Spring Court in Sarah J. Maas’ viral ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ series. This fae-inspired shimmering elixir is made with blood orange infused bombay dry gin, fresh lime and topped with ‘fairy dust.’ & edible illustration.

In a smoky ode to Middle-earth, ‘Gandalf’s Pipe’ blends smoked coffee and cacao nib cognac-biscoff with cold drip coffee and salted caramel espresso, served with a wand and a spell to set imaginations alight.

Meanwhile, ‘Slughorn’s Hourglass’ channels Hogwarts charm with raspberry and violet-infused Bombay Sapphire, pressed raspberry, white chocolate, prosecco and lemon.

Each cocktail has been meticulously crafted by Gin Lane’s founder and creative visionary Grant Collins, known globally for turning mixology into immersive art.

“Gin Lane has always pushed the boundaries of what a bar experience can be with storytelling cocktails and cinematic, theatrical presentation,” says Collins. “With our Tales & Tonics pop-up, we wanted to bring the escapism and world-building of fantasy novels to life, and offer Sydney something truly otherworldly. Our 19th-century townhouse is the perfect canvas to transport guests into a magical tavern.”

The limited-edition Tales & Tonics list is priced at $24 per cocktail and will be available daily from 4–6pm, and 2–5pm on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the event period. For those looking to slip beyond reality, the enchanted Seer’s Table will be open for readings every Friday from 24 October.

In addition to the fantasy collection, Gin Lane offers enthusiasts and exclusive Gin Masterclasses & cocktail making for groups to embark on an immersive journey into gin & cocktails tasting, exploring the botanical flavours and even craft personalised gin blends.

Gin Lane resides within a 19th century terraced townhouse, adding a touch of historical charm to its modern and innovative offerings. Housing an expansive collection of over 80 gins, sourced from around the world, including many rare and exclusive gins. For those seeking alternatives to gin, the bar offers a range of globally sourced premium spirits to craft virtually any cocktail, with zero alcohol options for all drinks.
