IGT’s original Hyper Hits games are still found on many gaming floors. The popularity of those original games was due to the unique nature of the fifth reel, which displayed credit values instead of symbols, and the symbols were only revealed once the reels landed. This made the focus for the players on gaining a four-of-a-kind win across the reels, with the chance to gain the additional 5th symbol on the last reel and lifting to a five-of-a-kind win.
This unique game feature remains unchanged in the new Hyper Hits Respins games, Golden Armour, Son of Zeus, Mighty Mammoth, plus a fourth game, Legend of the Prince, coming soon.
IGT have also boosted this game mathematically by adding a respin feature which is designed to hit (statistically) about 1 in 22 spins which means the players should see the respin almost every minute of continual play.
The Basics
Cabinet:
The Hyper Hits Respins Link is available for the PeakCurve49 cabinet. Clubs who have the successful Prosperity Link in the PeakCurve49 on the gaming floor have already seen great results from the strong graphics and floor presence of this machine. The Hyper Hits Respins SAP games will be available on the PeakCurve49 and the PeakDual27.
Jackpot Profiles:
The Hyper Hits Respins Link jackpot startups are available with three Grand Jackpot options of $10,000, $15,000, and $25,000. Venues will be able to choose a jackpot level that suits their players, budget and floor position.
The SAP version of the Hyper Hits Respins games have a choice of $5,000, $7,500 and $8,500 Jackpots. As these games are medium-high volatility games, the higher jackpots should be the more effective.
Denomination range: The Hyper Hits Respins Link and SAP game family are available as multi-denomination games including 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c and $1, plus the popular $2 choice for NSW.
“Any on Five” Wins
In the lower denominations (1c to 10c) the wins are 243 ways – so basically left to right wins. However, in higher denominations where there are only 5 paylines, IGT have introduced an “any on five” pay. This means once a player triggers a four-of-a-kind on Reels 1-4, they can utilise any position on Reel 5 to complete a five-of-a-kind. This boosts five-of-a-kind wins for those higher denomination players.
Hyper Hits Respin Feature
Players must land a four or five of a kind with overlaid 1, 2 or 3 symbols on a winning symbol. These are collected in the respin counter above Reel 5. During the respins, Reels 1 to 4 are held, and Reel 5 will respin for the number of spins on the respin counter. Players must land the required symbol in Reel 5 to be awarded the five-of-a-kind win credit prize.
Free Game Feature
In Hyper Hits Respins the free games offer players the opportunity to bring in that five-of-a-kind win with the valuable credit and jackpot prizes on the 5th Reel:
- Son of Zeus, and Mighty Mammoth
A player must land any 3 scatters in the middle three Reels to trigger 7 free games. Any Wilds that land are held, and roam within the central three reels at the end of each spin, for up to 3 spins, to offer opportunities of five-of-a-kind wins, and boost the number of remaining free games. The “roams” are indicated by an overlaid counter on the Wilds. Although there are seven free games, if there are Wilds that still have active “roams” remaining, the free spins continue until the roams run out.
- Golden Armour
A player must land any 3 scatters in the middle three reels to trigger 10 free games. In this game a symbol reveal feature awards the chance for more line wins and respins during free game play. Retriggers are also available when a player lands two scatters and is awarded 5 more free games, or three scatters and is awarded 10 more free games.
- Legend of the Prince (coming soon)
A player must land any 3 scatters in the middle three reels to trigger 10 free games. The Wild symbols that land during the free games will expand up and down as an extended symbol that covers either two or three positions. Retriggers are also available when a player lands two scatters and is awarded 5 more free games, or three scatters and is awarded 10 more free games.
