OUTGROWING PERFORMANCE!
IGT’s new Outgrow Link takes the popularity of choosing a feature to a whole new level for players in a way that’s never been done before. Once players have finished their free game feature, they can choose to take their win (guaranteed to be offered at least x20 their bet), they can choose to replay the feature to try and improve their win, or they can opt for a respin feature that is unique to each of the three games in the Outgrow game family.
The Outgrow game family includes three games: Outgrow Blue Moon, Outgrow Spooky Moon and Outgrow Western Moon and each of these three games have their own unique respin game feature and different volatility levels, plus a free game feature common to all games that includes a growing, locking and sticking WILD mechanic.
Currently available as a Link, with the SAP to be released shortly, the Outgrow games are focused on giving players a greater play experience by lifting the time-on-device and entertainment levels and the subtle easter eggs and art and design features will reinforce this for players.
The Basics
The Outgrow game family is available exclusively on IGT’s CrystalDual-i 27 as a multi-denomination game including 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, and $1 in all states, plus the important $2 denomination in NSW.
Outgrow Link is available now and managers can choose a $10,000 or $25,000 start up on the Grand Jackpot with a SAP jackpot and two bonus levels. The Outgrow SAP version is due for release soon and includes a Grand Jackpot of $5,000 with two additional bonus levels
The Free Game Feature
To achieve the free game feature the players must collect 6 or more ‘storm’ symbols. The players are awarded 6 free games but there is an additional free game for each extra or ‘storm’ collected.
In the free games the goal for the player is to land as many ‘outgrow’ tree symbols as they can which will grow out the branches on a tree. The branches are in fact ‘locked wilds’ which is a clever display of a sticky wild symbol in the feature that adds a story element to the game for the player and increases the chance of huge line wins. Retriggers are also available which is a great benefit for players as the wilds are sticky.
The Second Chance Choice
Once players have finished their free game feature, they can choose to take their win (or be offered a minimum of 20 times their bet), replay the feature to try and improve their win, or opt for a respin feature that is unique to each of the three games in the Outgrow game family.
The Respin Feature
Each of the Outgrow games includes a unique respin feature. Because of the way the game is structured, giving players an opportunity to change their feature choice, the respin features are an important component of these games so each of the games feature a respin with its own unique twist. Importantly they also have different volatility levels aimed at separate player types and player preferences.
- Blue Moon: This medium volatility game includes a respin feature with credit prizes, bonuses and jackpots
- Spooky Moon: Another medium volatility game has a respin feature with growing ‘Moon’ where the prizes values are revealed at the end of the respin games
- Western Moon: a medium / high volatility game with a respin feature with repeating credit prizes
This respin feature can also be triggered from within the base game with 6 or more moons.

Easter eggs!
A lot of time and effort has gone into the art and design development of the Outgrow games with subtle features designed to be noticed by players over time. For example, there is an easter egg in the games where a gas cloud around the moon is a signal to the player of a big prize value. The games are created to feature three weather phases, a morning, an evening and a thunderstorm, and the games are designed for the players to play through each of these weather changes. These are the types of ‘one-percenters’ in a game that keeps regular players entertained
Player Fit and Positioning
With a 1 in 62 combined feature hit rate, these Outgrow games will suit a wide player market and the strong focus on highlighting increased entertainment ensures Outgrow will be well suited to a mid-floor high traffic area. Players will see good time-on device which will add value to these games for the regular players across all tiers.

Outgrow games are focused on giving players a greater play experience by lifting the time-on-device and entertainment levels. Proof of concept for game designers is positive performance data and the Outgrow data is coming through at over x2 floor average.
