NEW INNOVATION PARTNERSHIP FOR CLUBSNSW ANNOUNCED
Innovation was the underlying theme of last weekend’s ClubsNSW conference. One of the highlights was the announcement of a new partnership between ClubsNSW and Slingshot – a company that brings together corporates with world-class disruptive start-ups, scale-ups and entrepreneurs under a new accelerator program.
The program will also allow clubs to bring employee ideas to life at pace and scale.
The Slingshot model is unique because it aligns with corporate strategy, develops bespoke programs, encourages extensive corporate involvement and generally receives a large volume of high-quality applications.
The Slingshot Accelerator program delivers new commercial models, exposure to different ways of thinking, access to new products, technologies and talent as well as media exposure.
Slingshot is already delivering programs for some of Australia’s leading companies including Qantas, Seek, HCF, Caltex, Lion, NRMA, ING Direct and the NSW Government.
A bit like “Shark Tank” – which featured at G2E last week – the process for running a Slingshot Accelerator program involves the following steps:
Application Period
Over a period of roughly one month, Slingshot search for the best employee ideas and/or Start-ups and Scaleups from around the country or internationally that meet your criteria.
Pitch Day
Shortlisted ideas and businesses will have the opportunity to pitch in front of a selected panel and attempt to secure a position within the program. The panel consists of key decision makers from the corporate and our internal staff.
12 Week Program
Slingshot run a 12-week accelerator program where founders have access to industry mentors and key players from within the Corporate.
Demo Day
Founders pitch in front of an audience of key stakeholders from the Corporate, potential investors, and industry leaders.
Incubation
Selected teams will undergo additional support for a three-month period from the Corporate in efforts to solidify potential synergies.
The ClubsNSW Slingshot Accelerator program will be launched in March 2019 with full details at that time.
