PARRA GROUP WELCOMES PITT TOWN SPORTS
The PARRA Group officially marked the amalgamation of Pitt Town Sports Club into the Parramatta Leagues Club group at a ceremony held at the Pitt Town venue.
The amalgamation, approved by members of both clubs earlier this year, brings Pitt Town Sports Club into a group that includes Parramatta Leagues Club, Vikings Sports Club and Dural Club. It represents a strategic expansion into Sydney’s growing northwest – one of the fastest-growing population corridors in New South Wales.
PARRA Group President Mark Jenkins said the amalgamation reinforces the group’s long-standing commitment to community-led investment across Western Sydney.
“Pitt Town Sports has served its community with pride for decades. Today we formally welcome its members into the wider PARRA Group family. This is a partnership built on shared values – supporting local sport, strengthening community connection and investing in the places where people live,” Mark Jenkins said.
“We understand the role this venue plays in the Pitt Town and Hawkesbury community, particularly during times of natural disaster. Pitt Town Sports sits on a primary evacuation route and serves as a designated assembly and shelter point during flood and bushfire events. That role matters. We are committed to working with Hawkesbury City Council, emergency services and government at all levels to explore how we can expand and strengthen that function for the benefit of the entire region.”
PARRA Group CEO Chris Dimou said the amalgamation reflects the group’s proven approach to growth through partnership.
“We have a strong track record with Vikings and Dural. Our model is simple – preserve local identity, invest in facilities and deliver better outcomes for members and their communities. Pitt Town Sports will keep its name, its character and its connection to the area. What changes is the support behind it – greater resources, stronger governance and a long-term investment commitment,” Chris Dimou said.
“We are already progressing plans to modernise the venue, including an expanded bistro, improved layout and a stronger connection between the club and its surrounding playing fields and outdoor areas. These upgrades will create a more open, family-friendly environment and position the club for the significant population growth forecast for this part of Sydney.”
Pitt Town Sports Club President Brad Cairns said the decision to amalgamate was made with the club’s long-term future firmly in mind.
“This partnership preserves the future of Pitt Town Sports Club while extending our reach within the community. It respects the traditions, history and connections we have built in the Hawkesbury.
