THE DROP TEST DRIVES IGT’S MONEY
IGT’s new Money Gong game series introduces a fresh variation on the popular Hold and Spin mechanic by incorporating a feature that can randomly enhance a player’s opportunities throughout the game. Available with three games, Money Gong Emperor, Money Gong Empress and Money Gong Panda, the series is designed around the concept of the Money Gong, which can intervene at key moments to improve feature access, increase prize values and access an additional jackpot opportunity. Rather than relying solely on the symbols initially landed, the Money Gong adds an extra layer of entertainment that can improve the outcome for players.
The Money Gong’s influence extends beyond simply triggering the Hold & Spin Feature. It may assist players who are just short of qualifying by adding extra Cash on Reels, while during the feature it can randomly apply prize enhancements such as value boosts, multipliers or repeat-pay modifiers to increase potential returns. Players can also progress to a secondary Money Gong feature where a dedicated jackpot is available, creating another level of engagement beyond the standard Hold and Spin mechanic. Combined with an additional free game sequence designed to improve access to feature play, the Money Gong series builds on familiar gameplay while introducing several new random enhancement mechanics intended to keep feature sessions dynamic and engaging.
The Basics
Games: Three games are available in the Money Gong series: Money Gong Emperor, Money Gong Empress, and Money Gong Panda
Denomination: 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c $1 (plus the $2 option for NSW players)
Cabinet: The Money Gong games are available in both the PeakDual27 and PeakCurve49 cabinets.
Link Jackpots: The Money Gong games are available as both Link and SAP: In NSW and QLD Link startups are available at $10K, $15K, $25K, $50K, with $75K also available for NSW only. There is an additional Money Gong Jackpot for both Link and SAP versions starting at $1250. The Money Gong Link is also available on IGT’s Super Link.
The SAP games are available with startups of $5K and $7.5.
Money Gong Hold and Spin Feature
Hold and spin feature is triggered by 6 or more cash-on-reels. In Money Gong, the Gong may assist the players who have landed between 1 and 5 cash-on-reels by providing additional cash-on-reels to make up the 6 required.
During the Hold and spin feature players are looking for the Money Gong to randomly provide prize modifiers to boost a player’s wins. These include a Prize Boost (which improves one of the cash-on-reel amounts by the value spun on the Gong), a Multiplier (which can randomly multiply one or more cash-on-reels by 2x to 5x) or a Vortex Repeat Pay, (which increases the value of a chosen cash-on-reel by the value spun on the Gong – between 2 and 5 times).
Money Gong Feature and Jackpot
During the Hold and Spin Feature, players can land a Money Gong Bonus symbol, which will take them through to a secondary Hold and Spin where the Money Gong Jackpot is available. In this feature only 8 positions are displayed. The Money Gong may randomly provide Multipliers that are between 2x to 5x the value of the cash-on-reels. If players fill all 8 positions, they are awarded the Money Gong Jackpot.
Free Games
All free games are triggered by landing 3 or more scatter symbols and are designed to give players an additional opportunity to trigger the Hold and Spin feature.
In Money Gong Emperor 6 free games are won where the Money Gong may provide additional Wilds or cash-on-reels randomly to the screen.
In Empress and Panda 5 free games are awarded and players are looking for ‘red doors’ which can reveal any symbol. If a player has a combination of 6 or more red doors and cash-on-reels, the doors will change to Gold Doors and guarantee either Wilds or cash-on-reels making it easier for a player to trigger the Hold and Spin Feature.
Market Match
The Money Gong series has been developed as a medium to high volatility offering, making it well suited to players who typically seek higher-value feature opportunities. From a floor placement perspective, the games are expected to perform best in busy, high-traffic locations such as outdoor gaming areas and prominent mid-floor positions where they can attract strong player exposure. Available in both dual-screen and portrait cabinet configurations, the series also provides venues with greater flexibility when integrating the games into existing floor layouts.
