SUNCITY JUNKET VIP GAMING CLUB TO CLOSE IN AUSTRALIAN CASINOS
The Age, Sydney Morning Herald and 60 Minutes have reported that Suncity Group will scale back its fixed high-roller rooms and withdraw its staff in The Star and Crown Casinos, following claims that the head of Suncity had been barred from entering Australia by the Department of Home Affairs
The Suncity Group are the largest Macau-based company that specialises in tours to Australian casinos for high roller gamblers from China. They have operated small fixed rooms at both Crown and The Star. The Age quoted a spokesman for The Star who confirmed that room is being closed but that they may continue their business relationship with the group:
“Suncity is the largest junket operator in the world and we work in a very a prescribed and lawful way with junkets that are credible and have been approved, in some states, by the regulators.”
