ALLEGED THIEVES PRETENDING TO BE TRADIES STEAL THOUSANDS

Three alleged thieves pretending to be tradies have robbed the Junction Hotel in Newcastle during the afternoon rush hour.

Wearing bright orange hi-vis, the three men entered the pokies section of the Junction Hotel in Newcastle on July 4 and allegedly left with the cash dispenser.

It was about 4.30pm and the trio left with about $30,000, local media reported.

According to The Newcastle News, local detectives think the crime could fit a broader pattern.

The Lambton Park Hotel, the Tanilba Bay Golf Club and the Mattara Hotel have all reportedly been targeted using similar methods.
