THE DROP TEST DRIVES IGT’S TIGER AND DRAGON GAMES

Tiger and Dragon Game Overview

IGT’s new Tiger and Dragon series brings bold visuals and fresh gameplay to the PeakCurve49 cabinet, using the portrait-style screen to immerse players. Initially launching with 2 titles, the series consists of four unique games, each offering its own twist, with an innovative “combining” mechanic common to all games, where adjacent cash-on-reel amounts merge into a single number rather than simply adding together, turning cash-on-reel values like 55, 6, and 8 into a massive 5568 credit win. Combined with arrow symbols that can increase prizes or add new cash-on-reel amounts, a hold and spin style feature, an extended ladder-feature screen and 243-way game play, the result is a highly engaging game series that players will enjoy.

The Basics

IGT’s new Tiger and Dragon series is available on the PeakCurve49 cabinet, and the game features are well served by portrait style Curve machine, which allows for stronger game play that fills the screen with interesting graphic features.  There are four unique games available:

  • Tiger and Dragon Cash-on-Reels lets players land clustered Cash-on-Reels to award credit prizes.
  • Tiger and Dragon Multiplier offers players the chance to multiply wins up to x10 during base game play.
  • Tiger and Dragon Super Gong converts surrounding positions for a chance to increase prizes.
  • Tiger and Dragon Super Bonus offers multipliers in the Super Tiger Bonus, and forces cash-on-reels together for increased prizes in the Super Dragon Bonus

Denominations

These games have such a unique collection method for the cash-on-reel amounts, where they are “combined” rather than added together, that the Tiger and Dragon games are only available in a 1c denomination. However, as a 243 ways game players can stick to a 50c minimum bet or lift their bet to a standard maxbet.

Link Jackpot range

The Tiger and Dragon Link startup options are $10,000 and $20,000 and all four games are available for the Link. Tiger and Dragon Cash-on-Reels and Tiger and Dragon Multiplier are available as SAP games with the SAP startups at $5,000 or $7,500.

Game Features:

There are several bonus features that are common to all of the Tiger and Dragon games, but the unique feature of this game is a cluster of more than two cash-on-reel amounts will “combine” together to give players their credit win, rather than just adding them together in the collection at the end of the feature. For example, adjacent cash on reel amounts of 55, 6 and 8 credits will combine as a 5568 credit win, and 15 and 22 credits become a 1522 credit win for the player.

Additionally, when arrow symbols land onscreen, they can point upwards to increase a cash-on-reel prize, or sideways to add an extra cash on reel amount, adding to a player’s potential win.

Tiger and Dragon Bonus

The Tiger and Dragon Bonus Feature starts when five mixed Tiger and Dragon symbols land, transporting players to a new screen with a six-level ladder of locked rewards. The action unfolds in a hold-and-spin format, where players collect Golden Gong symbols to unlock each level. Every Gong landed reduces the number required to open the next level, and any Gongs already collected on unopened levels are automatically counted and awarded when those levels unlock, sometimes unlocking two levels at once. As more levels open, the play area expands, giving players more chances to land Golden Gongs. When the spins end, all adjacent Gongs merge into blocks, combining to form credit prizes for exciting cash-on-reel payouts.

Additional Bonus Features

The game also offers three exciting alternate features, the Tiger Bonus, the Dragon Bonus and Mystery Gong Feature.

The Tiger Bonus is triggered by landing three Tiger symbols and launches a classic hold-and-spin feature, where adjacent cash-on-reel amounts combine to form credit prizes.

In contrast, the Dragon Bonus is activated by three Dragon symbols and opens a 5 x 8 screen. Here, Golden Gongs drop for each level, and players aim to land adjacent Gongs, so their values combine into bigger credit prizes. Special arrows can also appear, adding the potential to increase those prizes even further.

Adding even more engagement, a Mystery Gong Feature can appear at random, dropping extra cash-on-reel amounts onto the screen, where adjacent values merge to deliver additional credit wins.

Market Match

IGT’s new Tiger and Dragon game series uses current contemporary features, such as hold and spin and cash on reel game play, combined with a familiar 243 ways game and adds a unique collection method by combining clustered cash-on-reel credit pays to add extra interest for players. From this perspective alone, there is plenty of opportunity for player engagement and this game will work for all levels of players but should fit best with regular mid-tier players. This game should be positioned in a high traffic area in the main gaming floor where the orange artwork will stand out on the gaming floor.

Summary

IGT has introduced a unique cash-on-reel collection mechanic to improve a hold and spin style game. With additional Tiger and Dragon Bonuses, a Mystery Gong feature and special symbols to improve a player’s credit wins, this series offers a fresh, highly engaging player experience with great floor presence.
