IGT’S NEW FIREBALL GAMES DELIVER ADDITIONAL TWIST TO THE WORLD’S MOST POPULAR FEATURE STYLE
Hold and Spin mechanics on game features in the market are still growing in market share in both NSW and QLD. There are currently over 35% of this style of game in clubs and over 55% in hotels. Most manufacturers now have their own version of the popular feature style. IGT, who’s strength in recent years has been in building a variety of unique games, has taken the hold and spin style mechanic and added twist with a new overlaid Fireball. With the triggering symbol as an overlay players can achieve both line wins and the feature at the same time.
What’s new?
- Lower cost to cover for regular player
While there are plenty of solid win opportunities and the ability to improve the wins as the higher tier players increase their bets, IGT has ensured the game remains fun and affordable for the lower tier players, and increases their time-on-device with a minimum bet of only 25c (20 lines plus a 5c ante bet)
- Overlaid trigger symbol
The feature trigger fireball symbol is an overlaid symbol and no longer acts as a blocker to game wins for the player who can achieve line wins or trigger free games underneath the fireball symbol
- Better return to house % and Grand Jackpot choices
Return to player percentages of 91.17% or 91.29% are available and offer a better hold than other versions of hold and spin style games.
The games in the series are available with a choice of Grand Jackpot options of $3000 or $5000 so clubs and hotels can choose the level of volatility they can afford and that best suits their player market.

What’s familiar?
- Fireball feature
6 fireballs trigger the fireball feature where all the fireballs are held and 3 respins are awarded. During the respins any additional fire balls are held and the respin counter is reset. The credit value of all the fireball amounts (between 1 – 1000), as well as any progressive or bonus wins are collectively added together as the feature win for the player.
- Bonus wins and progressive jackpots
The player is able to win Major ($500 start-up) and Minor ($100 start-up) progressive wins, as well as lower value Maxi and Mini bonus fireball wins. A full screen (or 15 fireballs) awards the grand progressive win.
