Peter Saez – Thirty Years of Five Star Service

The Epping Club’s CEO Peter Saez, this month celebrates his 30 year anniversary at the innovative Sydney establishment.

Peter Saez has been a driving force in the development of The Epping Club since it’s re-location to Rawson St in 1995, always committed to creating Sydney’s first five-star Club.

His belief that “Nothing is a problem, it’s always an opportunity” has seen the Club win multiple awards in Events, Tourism, Food & Beverage and Sustainability as well as achieve ongoing success in both member retention and profitability since his appointment to CEO in 2005.

Peter is well-respected as an innovative and strategic manager with many of his achievements being recognised as benchmarks of the Club industry. With over 40 years hospitality experience, Peter maintains that there is great value in ongoing training and education for staff. This belief resulted in his role as Chairman of the original Education Committee of The Club Management Institute of Australia (now the CMDA). Peter still enjoys sharing his knowledge, and mentoring young managers within the industry, and is proud of previous staff he has trained who have gone on to hold prestigious positions in senior management or CEO’s of other Clubs.

Peter believes that the role of all Clubs in their greater community is one of true responsibility, and he is vigorous in encouraging this industry-wide.  Peter’s community involvement includes contributions to the Karonga School, a special needs school requiring an upgrade their playing grounds. Peter’s entire management team and staff have embraced the project after sharing in their leader’s commitment to make a ‘bunch of truly special kids have the outdoor equipment they deserve’.

School Principal, Mark Gosbell comments, “Peter is a wonderful leader and working with him is a great pleasure. He has immeasurably improved the facilities for the children at Karonga and worked tirelessly to fund the project for us.”

When asked about his 30-year career in Club Management, Peter is proud of both his personal achievements and the impact he has made during this time. ‘I have watched Clubs change in many ways and am proud of the world class industry that we have now become.’

Previous to his career at The Epping Club Peter has held roles at Forestville RSL, The Spanish Club and The Hakoah Club. Those experiences laid the ground work for who he became and what he was able to offer The Epping Club.

The Epping Club’s President, David Taylor acknowledges Peter’s contribution to the venue and the great vision that he has brought to his role as CEO,

‘Peter is an exciting and passionate leader and I congratulate him on his 30 years at The Epping Club. His extraordinary direction has seen the Club achieve many milestones and prestigious awards and it is a pleasure to serve alongside him as his President. On behalf of The Epping Club’s board we thank Peter for 30 years’ service and all that has resulted from this outstanding tenure.’
