PLENTY ON THE MENU FOR 2019 AHG EXPO

The calendar highlight for members of the food, beverage, hospitality and gaming industries is nearly here, and plenty of juicy details about what visitors and exhibitors can expect during the 2019 Keno Australasian Hospitality and Gaming Expo have been revealed.

Visitors and exhibitors at last year’s expo will be excited to hear about the return of the AHG Tastes precinct in 2019. The precinct – which celebrates the amazing flavours and buzz-worthy beverages of the hospitality industry – debuted last year in response to the revelation that the primary reason that people visit a pub or club is to enjoy a meal, and gave stallholders and visitors the opportunity to taste the latest and greatest food and beverage products and services Australasia has to offer.

While the expo itself – which sees hundreds of stalls run by industry suppliers fill the massive Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre – may only be a two-day spectacle, the array of ‘add-on’ events available to visitors and exhibitors alike is the reason so many expo-goers turn their visit to Brisbane into a week-long “work trip”.

Kicking off the week on Monday, March 25, the AHG Expo ‘party’ Bus Tours will take passengers on a journey through the city’s best bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants. Your enigmatic party bus host will lead you behind the scenes of notable venues like the Howard Smith Wharves, the multi-billion-dollar Queen’s Wharf development as well as the Sandstone Point Hotel, and many more.

Then, on Tuesday, March 26, the National Governance and Management Congress will engage you through a new and improved workshop style to deliver plenty of hands-on advice from innovative industry leaders; Graham Bradley, David McGrath, Dr Robert Kay, Evelyn Field OAM, and Anthony Hiscox, discussing topics ranging from anti-bullying and mental health and resilience to board behaviour in a series of talks and workshops throughout the day.

Wrapping up the first day of the AHG Expo on Wednesday, March 27, the AHG Cocktail Party will give visitors and exhibitors the chance to rub shoulders with like-minded industry members over a glass (or two!) of bubbly. The event is completely free and everyone is welcome to hang around after Day One of the expo wraps up and enjoy the cocktail party on the exhibition floor.

The final day of the AHG Expo starts with a bang with the Club Plus Super AHG Breakfast on Thursday, March 28. Boxing world champion and Brisbane local Jeff Horn drew crowds when he spoke at last year’s breakfast, and this year’s speaker is sure to be just as much of a knock-out – all will be revealed in a couple of weeks!
