ROSA, A NEW AMALFI-INSPIRED HANDMADE PASTA BAR IS OPENING IN PYRMONT

Rosa, a new neighbourhood pasta bar, is bringing a touch of the Amalfi Coast to Pyrmont with handmade pasta and relaxed dining, with no dish priced over $30.

Created by the dynamic brother-sister duo Ben and Emily Calabro, the team behind Pyrmont institution Quick Brown Fox cafe, Rosa is all about simple authentic dishes done well. Think classic pasta dishes like Linguine Prawn alla Busara, perfectly paired with a Negroni Sbagliato. Pyrmont locals won’t need to travel to Italy to get their serving of Euro-summer vibes.

With seasoned chef duo Daniel Grey & Kira Sherry (formerly Apollo and Albertos) behind the menu, they have curated a menu that celebrates the simplicity of fresh handmade pasta, crafted with love at an accessible and affordable price point.

With a modern take on traditional dishes like penne pesto with basil, pork sausage, fried garlic and pine nuts and pan-fried gnocchi with roast pumpkin, sage, burnt butter and hazelnut. Or if you’re in the mood for sunset aperitif snacks, you can choose from freshly baked Focaccia from Pyrmont neighbours PiOiK Bakery, paired with burrata with heirloom tomato salad, tarragon and black cherry vinaigrette, or artichokes with lemon rind, garlic, chilli flakes, fennel seeds and oregano. All dishes can be ordered for takeaway and enjoyed at home.

The curated drinks menu includes a selection of classic apéritifs and digestifs. Rosa has your Spritz craving covered with a Limoncello, Campari or Aperol Spritz on offer. There’s also a selection of local Australian and Italian wines, along with classic cocktails, all perfectly paired to complement your pasta dish and transport you from the streets of Pyrmont to the Amalfi Coast.

Rosa’s interiors, designed by local talent Nicola Stillone, draw inspiration from the sun-drenched Amalfi Coast. The bright, open, and modern space features a contemporary yet cosy aesthetic, offering intimate indoor seating, an upstairs private dining area perfect for groups, cosy romantic date-night spots on the balcony and an inviting outdoor space.

“We wanted to capture the spirit of the Amalfi Coast – fresh, warm, and welcoming – and bring that to Pyrmont,” said Ben Calabro. “Rosa is all about creating a sense of home with our delicious pasta, our hospitality, and surroundings. We grew up eating pasta with our family around the table, and we wanted to create a space that feels like home, from our family to yours.”

Rosa is now open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30am – 9:30pm at 182 Harris Street, Pyrmont.
