SMART PUPS – LIFE BEYOND FEAR

The “who’s who” of the casino, club & hotel sector, in conjunction with the entire QLD hospitality industry (500 attendees) came together again – as they have done for nine years now – to raise a glass (or twenty) to Smart Pups, an organisation that does extraordinary work.

Held at the popular Paddo Pub in Brisbane each year, attendees enjoyed a seafood lunch and listened to guest speakers at the annual fundraising luncheon. This luncheon and associated events have raised circa $2m for Smart Pups who train much needed and loved assistance dogs to help children with special needs.

Smart Pups is a Queensland based not-for-profit charitable organisation that receives no government funding to work their magic – and when you see the dogs in action, it is truly magical. The work they do is life changing and, in some cases, lifesaving.

IGT QLD State Manager, Craig Harley, is the architect and driving force behind this annual QLD luncheon, which is now regarded as a must attend QLD event that is always a sell-out. It is a great testament to the importance of the relationship we forge in the QLD hospitality sector and the big hearts that beat at its core.

Plans are underway for the 2022 Smart Pups Charity Luncheon at the Paddo Pub in Brisbane in a few months, and this year the introduction of a Sydney-based event.
