Peter Saez has been a driving force in the development of The Epping Club since it’s re-location to Rawson St in 1995, always committed to creating Sydney’s first five-star Club.

His belief that “Nothing is a problem it’s always an opportunity” has seen the Club win multiple awards in Events, Tourism, Food & Beverage and Sustainability as well as achieve ongoing success in both member retention and profitability since his appointment to CEO in 2005.

Peter is well-respected as a passionate, innovative and strategic manager with many of his achievements being recognised as benchmarks of the Club industry. He has held esteemed industry positions including the first-ever Education Committee and Sponsorship Chairman of the Club Management Institute of Australia (now the CMDA). With over 40 years hospitality experience, Peter holds great value in ongoing training and education for all staff and enjoys sharing his vast wealth of knowledge and mentoring young managers within the industry.

Peter is an amazing mentor and is very proud of previous staff he has trained who have gone on to hold prestigious positions in senior management or CEO’s of other Clubs.

The management team all appreciate the flexible autonomous conditions he encourages, which is evident in the genuine affection they all hold for him and for the length of service of the management team.

Peter’s community involvement has seen him make incredible contributions to the Epping area especially in his enthusiasm for the Karonga School partnership. This relationship has seen The Epping Club join forces with the special needs school to upgrade their playing grounds which are a much needed and highly beneficial resource. Peter has demonstrated his hands on approach to this project, leading with personal commitment from volunteering on Do Something Day working in the school grounds to personally planting the first tree in the school’s Olive Grove. Peter’s entire management team and staff have embraced the project after sharing in their leader’s commitment to make a ‘bunch of truly special kids have the outdoor equipment they deserve’.

School Principal, Mark Gosbell comments that he had great admiration for Peter and his commitment to leaving a positive local footprint.

“Peter is a wonderful leader and working with him is a great pleasure. He has immeasurably improved the facilities for the children at Karonga and worked tirelessly to fund the project for us.”

Karonga is one of many projects he has personally overseen and his impact in the local Epping area is celebrated. Peter believes that the role of all Clubs in their greater community is one of true responsibility and he is vigorous in encouraging this industry-wide.

When asked about his 30-year career in Club Management, Peter is proud of both his personal achievements and the impact he has made during this time. ‘I have watched Clubs change in many ways and am proud of the world class industry that we have now become.’ Previous to his career at The Epping Club Peter has held roles at Forestville RSL, The Spanish Club and The Hakoah Club. Those experiences laid the ground work for who he become and what he was able to offer The Epping Club.

The Epping Club’s President, David Taylor acknowledges Peter’s contribution to the venue and the great vision that he has brought to his role as CEO,
