150+ PUBS ARE RAISING FUNDS FOR SECONDBITE THIS EASTER

Australian Venue Co (AVC) is raising funds for SecondBite, an Australian food rescue organisation and long-time charity partner, over the Easter long weekend by donating $1 from every Parma sold at 150+ pubs across the country from Friday 7th until Monday 10th April.

SecondBite is Australia’s largest free food rescue organisation, with a mission to end food waste and food insecurity by rescuing quality surplus food from growers, manufacturers and retailers and distributing it free of charge to over 1,400 charities to feed Aussies in need.

AVC’s nationwide initiative will run across all venues that sell Chicken Parmas on their menu spanning every state in Australia.

Paul Waterson, Australian Venue Co CEO, said that every dollar donated to SecondBite is proof that a small contribution can add up to make a huge difference.

“Every $1 donated can support up to 5 meals to those in need, which is an incredible result. In FY22, we helped raise $11,872 for SecondBite, which helped to provide up to 59,630 meals to Australians who are doing it tough.

We’re very proud to support SecondBite and the amazing work that they do, and look forward to raising additional funds for them this Easter.”

SecondBite Acting CEO Lucy Coward said the campaign would raise much-need funds for its food rescue efforts.

“At a time when one in five Australians experience food insecurity every single day, AVC patrons can know that their donation will help SecondBite rescue and deliver more meals to those who need it most.”

The Easter long weekend initiative will add to AVC’s continuing support for SecondBite, which sees diners also offered the option to add a $1 SecondBite donation to their order via mobile app at participating venues across Australia, with AVC dollar matching every contribution.
