For clubs in New South Wales, the introduction of the Registered Clubs Regulation 2025 has reinforced the importance of director education. Newly appointed directors are now required to complete training in organisational governance and financial management within 12 months of their appointment. Directors of clubs operating gaming machines must also complete Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) and Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling (ARCG) training, or alternatively undertake approved Responsible Gambling Board Oversight (RGBO) training.
