G2E ASIA 2020 POSTPONED TO DECEMBER

G2E Asia has been postponed for a second time, with this year’s exhibition now set to be held at The Venetian Macao from 1 to 3 December 2020, organizer Reed Exhibitions announced Friday.

Originally scheduled to be held in May, G2E Asia had already been rescheduled once to late July due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This latest postponement follows the further spread of the virus around the world and ongoing disruption to global travel.

Attendees and delegates are unable to fly into Macau without facing days of self-isolation in their own countries on their return.

Even though the casinos in Macau remain open, Inside Asian Gaming (IAG) walked the main gaming floor of 11 of the largest casinos this week to conduct a headcount on players. On average, each gaming floor had just seven players on tables and eight players on slots.

All counts were conducted on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons at The Venetian Macao, Parisian Macao, Sands Cotai Central, City of Dreams, Wynn Palace, MGM Cotai, Galaxy Macau, Grand Lisboa, Wynn Macau, MGM Macau and StarWorld.

There may have been VIP players that were unseen at the casinos, but those numbers suggest that there is a long way to go to rebuild confidence in public venues across the world
