PUB ROBBERIES ON THE RISE AGAIN

As times get tougher people resort to extreme measures to fund their needs and a recent spate of armed robberies confirms these crimes are on the rise. The last month in Sydney alone there has been several armed hold-ups and attempted robberies. It’s not just happening in Sydney, but increasing incidents are happening across the country.

Here are some of the most recent incidents:

  1. Canterbury Hotel (Sydney)

Two armed men are on the run after a pub was held up in Sydney’s south-west. At about 1.02am, police were called to the Canterbury Hotel, Canterbury. They were told that two men wearing dark clothes, face coverings, and gloves, had entered the hotel and threatened staff and patrons. One of the men was armed with a shotgun, the other with a pistol. The men stole an amount of cash and fled the hotel on foot,

  1. Livingstone Hotel (Sydney)

New South Wales Police have begun a manhunt for two gunmen on the loose after a pair of armed robbers held up a Sydney pub, threatened patrons and stole cash from the venue. Inner West Police Area Command were called to the scene about 1am after two men with firearms burst into the venue.

The pair allegedly threatened patrons and staff as they stole cash and fled the scene in an unidentified car.

  1. Camden pub armed robbery netted $130,000 in cash (Sydney)

A 32-year-old man has been charged over an armed robbery of a hotel in the Camden area earlier this week. Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command were called to Camden Valley Way, Camden, following reports two men had entered a hotel and approached a staff member.

Police will allege the men threatened the staff member with a hatchet and took about $130,000 in cash before they left in a ute.

  1. Wiley Park and Bexley North (Sydney)

NSW Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery and attempted robbery at two Sydney pubs overnight.

Police allege two men entered a pub on King Georges Road at Wiley Park with their faces covered while armed with a handgun and knife about 3am today. The pair allegedly took cash before leaving in a car, which investigators believe was being driven by a third person. Earlier that night, police allege that an attempted armed robbery took place at a venue on Slade Road in Bexley North at 2.20am. The men were unable to enter the venue and left in a car.
