BEWARE THOSE ALL-YOU-CAN EAT DEALS!

Does the “ All you can eat model’ still work? Perhaps a warning here.

A restaurant in Chengdu, China has found itself in debts of more than $100,000 after customers took advantage of an all-you-can-eat dining deal.

For $25, diners at the Chengdu restaurant received a membership card that allowed them to eat unlimited food for a whole month.

It seems the restaurant’s owners failed to anticipate how many diners would take up the offer, with more than 500 people turning up each day to eat at the venue.

The restaurant reportedly opened each day from 11am to 11pm, but guests started lining up at 8am and refused to leave until midnight.

In just two weeks the restaurant went bankrupt and was forced to close its doors.

According to ABC, the owners said their lack of business skill resulted in the restaurant’s closure.

“The uncivilised behaviour of the diners was secondary — the main problem was our poor management,” co-owner Su Jie told the Chengdu Economic Daily.
