CMAA HELPING ONE OF THEIR OWN. ‘GO FUND ME’ CAMPAIGN FOR THE RECENT TWEED TRAGEDY.

Recently a tragedy occurred in the Tweed floods where Matt Kabealo, an employee of the Kingscliff Bowling Club, lost his wife Stephanie King and two of their children, Ella Jane and Jacob when the car they were travelling in, left the road and they drowned.

Kingscliff Bowling Club’s General Manager Phil Kelly, a CMAA member and President of the CMAA Far North Coast Zone contacted the CMAA for assistance and the Association marshalled its resources and immediately created a fundraiser for Matt and his surviving daughter Chloe.

Since that time an overwhelming response from the CMAA membership, clubs and the wider club industry community has seen the funds raised exceed over $135,000 which will help Matt rebuild his and Chloe’s lives and alleviate their financial situation.

The generosity of all of those who donated is to be congratulated and Matt has asked us to convey his heartfelt thanks and disbelief in how quickly and genuinely our community rallied around him in his time of need.

The CMAA will ensure that the funds raised will be directly deposited into Matt’s bank account and wish him and Chloe the very best into the future.
