TEST DRIVE: IGT “WHEEL SHOT – WILD GOLD”
There are some consistent play features that gamers have enjoyed historically, and wheel spin games are high on that list. IGT has used the new release “Wheel Shot” to give that successful concept a 2020 twist. In turning the wheel sideways they display multiple 3D wheels that give the player a chance to build anticipation and progress across the wheels to bigger and extra prizes. IGT have again shown they are looking to develop new game types so clubs are able to choose some game variety to offer the players. This game is available in IGT’s Crystal Curve, Crystal Dual-i 27 and their CrystalSlant giving clubs plenty of flexibility to choose a machine that suits their floor design.
Denomination: Multi-denomination game allows players to choose from 1c, 2c, (50 lines) 5c and 10c (25 lines) and $1 (5 lines) configuration and match their bets to their budgets.
Game Features: There are two features in the game that add interest for the player. The free game feature adds lots of extra wilds and ‘wheel’ scatter symbols giving the player extra chances to win their way into the main wheel feature. Access to the wheel feature can be triggered during normal play or during the free games by getting 3 X scattered wheel symbols. The 2D wheel on the screen, tips and turns into a 3D group of wheels. The players start on the smallest wheel with credit prizes and arrows which move them progressively through to the next wheels. The best strategy for the player is to collect as many of the credit prizes from each wheel that they can before landing on an arrow that takes them to the next wheel.
SAP Profile: 3 jackpot options are available of $3,000, $5,000 and $8,000
Volatility: The wheel prizes change every time so each feature for a player is unique, and the prizes are scalable to both the players bet and their denomination. For the $1 player volatility is added by having different pay amounts and increased frequency of pays compared to the lower denominations.
Floor Position: In this game, you would want to feature the impressive wheel graphics with 3D elements so it is most suited to a high traffic, and clearly visible area of the gaming floor where regular players prefer to sit. With the ability to increase the prize values on the wheels by increasing their bet, this game will appeal to both large and small players particularly with the $1 game stacked with extra volatility.
Performance: This month Wheel Shot-Wild Gold went into a test club and results are very strong. Players immediately took to the game with an interesting twist on a comfortable feature. Maxgaming data (November MTD) shows the game at 3 times the floor average and at the top of the rankings for new games released in the last 3 months.
